In 1988 Leo and I were in Italy eating dinner out on the patio and the way the buildings were lit up gave me inspiration for this series.

Tuscania is a Romanesque town near Rome. We discovered it late afternoon and decided to stop awhile and have dinner. I could not believe my luck for the street above us had the best collection of medieval houses. This painting is done from the sketch that I did that night.
