In 1988 Leo and I were in Italy eating dinner out on the patio and the way the buildings were lit up gave me inspiration for this series.

Roman rooftops is the view across the narrow street from our friend's apartment in the historic center of Rome. We learned that Romans really use every bit of space and get to enjoy so many warm evenings al fresco.
