I love to build up form in clay. I then fire the dried work and finish the piece with paint. Since I am coming from years of working with acrylics, I feel I have more control over the results with paint, rather than using glazes.

After sculpting Guido, I thought that he needed a counterpart in the East. This time, I took Kurasawa's Ran as my source and from the sketchbooks for the film, I was able to make the samari who faces off to the Italian in an "East meets West".
